We support farmers that transition away from de-horning and tail-docking, and ask our producers to be proponents of change in those practices. We, like many of our farmers, believe that new approaches can eliminate practices that cause concern. As those approaches are explored–such as selective breeding programs for hornless cattle – it is important that farmers have the right economic incentives to implement them in a sustainable way, and that people with expertise in this area set the timelines.
